This evening, WordPress 3.7 was officially released. The biggest change in this latest version of WordPress is the auto-update functionality. Once you upgrade to WordPress 3.7, you won’t have to worry about manually updating the site again until the next major version is released; you read that right, WordPress will automatically update itself any time a new security release or minor release comes out.

On top of that bombshell, the release notes also indicate that native search results are much better than they have been in the past, organizing the results according to relevance rather than publish date. Additionally, the password strength indicator has been revamped, causing passwords that were previously considered “Medium” or even “Strong” by the built-in password meter to now be considered “Weak” based on new criteria.

Lastly, for those of us using multisite, they’ve added a new function called wp_get_sites() to easily get an array of the sites within your network (I haven’t yet tested to see if, in a multi-network environment, it only returns sites in a single network, or if it returns all sites).
